JSS Medical College (JSSMC) is a medical college based in Mysore, Karnataka, India. The graduate and post-graduate programs of the college are recognized by the Medical Council of India. The courses offered are also recognized by General Medical Council (UK), Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. The college has been recognized by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK, for the award of MRCOG. After the formation of JSS University (Established under Section-3 of UGC Act) JSS Medical College has become a constituent college of the JSS University from the Academic year 2008-2009. The students of this college are from all corners of India as well from Abroad . The college is also recognized by The General Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council and WHO. Post-graduate courses in various faculties, PhD and Paramedical Courses have also been started.

Research is being carried out in all departments, both in the clinical and basic sciences, under National and International funded projects. The staff and students are actively involved in Clinical and Research activities, including publication of papers in reputed professional journals. Depression Brain Bank, a unique project, has already started functioning. JSS Body Donation Association registers and receives donations of bodies.
The Central Library is spread over an area of 14,167 sq ft (1,316.2 m2). JSS Hospital has a separate Library of its own. The Library is equipped with Medical and Allied Text Books, Reference Books, Encyclopedia, Dictionaries, Technical Reports, Monographs, Thesis and Dissertation works, Foreign and Indian Medical Journals of repute, as well as general reading material. The library also has an impressive collection of CD ROMs and Databases. A digital library with internet workstations is established.
The college offers the four and a half year M.B.B.S. course with a one year compulsory rotating internship. There are 150 seats which are filled through an entrance test conducted by JSS University.
The College offers both the Post Graduate Degree and the Diploma Courses. The Degree course is of 3 years duration whereas the Diploma course is of 2 years.

Since March 2002, as a trial 'run', 40 children with clefts of lip and palate have been operated by Dr. Satish H.V., M.S., M.Ch., a consultant plastic surgeon. JSS Hospital offers complete rehabilitation facilities for these children. The JSS Dental College has come up with all the necessary advancements to treat the accompanying dental problems. The JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing is geared up to give speech therapy and is conducting research on various aspects of Cleft Lip and Palate.
This association was established in June 1996. The main purpose of this association is to receive the donor's bodies for corneal transplantation to the blind, research purposes, study of organs by the undergraduate, post-graduate and research students.
The college has many facilities like enough space for playing the games viz., cricket, football, table tennis, volley ball, hockey badminton and in addition to it athletics and indoor games are also available. A permanent sports ground on par with National standards is also there in the campus along with a well equipped gym.
The present JSS Hospital in Ramanuja Road has a long history. In order to serve the needy and poor sections of the society and to bring quality medical service within the reach of the poor, His Holiness Dr.Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji started J.S.S. Health Centre as early as 1963 on a small scale. Thus the seed of the present Hospital was planted. At present hospital is having 1200 beds with 35 specialties and super specialties started under the aegis of J.S.S. Medical Service Trust. It is now serving as a teaching hospital to the J.S.S. Medical College. J.S.S. Hospital is of the pioneer hospital in Mysore.
A notable feature of this hospital is that it caters to the needs of the patients of rural parts of the districts viz., Mysore, Chamarajnagar, Mandya, Coorg, and Hassan in Karnataka and the Nilgiri mountains in Tamil Nadu. It treats on average, 800 patients in outpatient department and facilities provided for 1200 in-patients. Several health activities are organized in rural areas to create health awareness.
Apart from extending the clinical facilities to the J.S.S. Medical College, it trains students of J.S.S. Nursing College, Nursing School and JSS College of Physiotherapy, JSS College of Speech & Hearing also. Kidney transplantation and Corneal transplantation are conducted in the Hospital. JSS Hospital is the first Hospital to conduct Renal Transplantation outside Bangalore in the state of Karnataka.
The existing infrastructure of the JSS Hospital is not sufficient to cater to the present patient flow as it is increasing day by day.
Keeping in view the highest quality treatment to the public especially the poor rural population, JSS MST is constructing new multi specialty Hospital with state-of-the-art advanced and modern features by which we can serve the people better.
The new Hospital is going to be constructed on the land area measuring 12 Acres which is adjoining to the existing Hospital building. The budgeted cost of the New Hospital is Rs.300.00 Crores.
